About Me
Hi there, Sidnee here :-)
I am a Singaporean-Malaysian filmmaker and writer. I specialize in post-production, and often write about the intersection of film, media, immigration and queerness.
After graduating summa cum laude from Emerson College with a BA in Visual Arts and Media and Honors, I am currently enrolled in Columbia’s Film and Media Studies graduate program. Currently based in New York City, I have professional post-production experiences in non-fiction, educational media production, as well as freelance writing for culture and academic publications.
I currently work as a video editor for the School of the Arts Communications team and am a festival programmer and coordinator for the 2025 PrideFull Film Festival.
The challenges and successes of my global immigration experiences have taught me to adopt a holistic and loving artistic and critical vision; embracing different cultural environments has also inspired me to pursue creative and academic projects responding to the distinct experience of unbelonging minorities silently endure—and the community and love that can be found after.
If this sounds important to you too, reach out to me at and let’s get to know each other.
